Fundraising for the Milmerstadt Family
On Monday, March 20, Orange County Sheriff and SWAT team member Michael Milmerstadt developed a severe headache, later determined to be a serious brain injury. Tragically Mike passed away on March 23, 2023. He was with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for seven years, serving as member of the Community Oriented Policing Squad (COPS), a member of the agency’s elite SWAT Team, and was a valuable trainer, particularly in defensive tactics.
On May 6, 2023 Darkhorse Benefits hosted a SOF-X Event to honor the legacy of Deputy Milmerstadt and brought the community together to provide support to his family. 100% of all proceeds are being donated to this effort.
Mike is survived by his loving wife and three children. He was a loving husband, dedicated father, exceptional Deputy, and beloved teammate of Orange County Sheriff’s SWAT Team. Mike will continue his life of service even in death having donated his organs and saving the lives of people he never had the opportunity to meet. Mike was a hero and we continue to honor him and support his family.

For a tax-deductible donation of $600.00—ammunition, weapons, targets, range facilities, and instruction will be provided. Instruction will be led by former Tier-1 Operators from the U.S. Army’s most elite hostage rescue unit. This exciting day of training will close with a silent auction of tactical equipment and dinner.
